Spiritual Ecology

Spiritual Ecology

The emerging field of Spiritual Ecology is a primary focus of our work. BMC offers author events, retreats, and community projects rooted in the values of spiritual ecology including stewardship, inter-connectedness, reverence for nature, and service. In 2016, BMC organized a weekend gathering, Call of the Forest, with Diana Beresford-Kroeger and other climate activists (videos are available on Center for Humans and Nature Youtube channel). This program is inspired by the groundbreaking book Spiritual Ecology: The Cry of the Earth and the Spiritual Ecology Fellowship program, and we define spiritual ecology according to the principles and values they’ve developed: that ecological renewal, sustainability, and right action depend on our examining our underlying attitudes and beliefs about the earth, recognizing our responsibility for the planet, and cultivating spiritual awareness.
